Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ADUNA BAY KALAINAN ANG PAGPATUMAN SA BALAOD???

 It seems strange that Mayor Mike is reported  in the news as suggesting to treat with "kid gloves" the eight erring cops found positive using illegal drugs. I don't know if some of them are relatives of the City Mayor such that it merited his "kindness." 

This runs counter to the reaction of the Regional Police Office Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo who felt insulted with that incident and ordered that these officers be disarmed. He even suggested they be placed in "one holding unit" while waiting for confirmation from Manila laboratory results. He even want them dismissed if they are finally confirmed as "users." But Mayor Mike, if the news reports are true, is taking a different stand. He wants them rehabilitated and after being found free from the illegal drugs in their system be readmitted to the police force. 

Why, is there a shortage of new police officers to replace them if they are finally dismissed? If public utility vehicle drivers found positive in random check for illegal drugs conducted by the LTO are subjected to punitive action why the difference in  their treatment? Are police officers considered "first class citizens" compared to the drivers caught with the same violation?
