Kaban ni D_BystandeR: MGA SUGYOT, MGA HUNAHUNA

The fire that razed hundreds of houses in Barrio Luz last Friday, May 11, 2011 posed a big problem to affected residents who lived in the area for several years. Now another problem has cropped-up and this will surely be a double whammy on the part of the residents who just lost their homes. 

Mayor Mike, because he doesn't feel the hardships of the people living in the area proposed in a totally indifferent manner that being the City Mayor he will order a reblocking of the roads inside the barangay making it 10 meters wide from the original 4.5 meters. 

This was immediately opposed by Boy Guerra, a barangay councilor. The residents' counter proposal is one meter to be added to the original width making it 5.5 meters wide, meaning 1/2 meter will be taken from each side. To follow the mayor's plan will adversely affect the dwelling of those concerned especially that they only have 20 square meters each per family and that most of the residents have already fully paid their lot as part of the 93-1 lot owned by the province. The general consensus is that the residents should be consulted of the Mayor's drastic plan otherwise instead of helping alleviate the situation he is now compounding the residents' problem. Come to think of it, Mayor Mike.
