Kaban ni D_BystandeR: WALAY KINUTOBANG KALIHOKAN BATOK SA MGA KABOS???

Mayor Mike Rama has a new plan for Plaza Independencia, this was the news item that caught my eye so I tried reading into the bottom to find out what's cooking. It was disclosed that as per existing regulation governing the operation of said "Plaza" it is open to the public 24 hours a day. And that would be normal because the place is for the public. Reading further into it raises my eyebrow upon knowing of the Mayor's plan to change it from the original perception that it is open to the public - 24 hours/day, to one that is "regulated." News reports of some "homeless" people staying "overnight" in said place "enjoying" the safety of their "transient" stay in the place under the "free" services provided by the security guards working "round the clock" probably irked the Mayor.

A plan is afoot to "get rid" of those "homeless" from using it as their "sleeping quarters" by giving a "timeline" within which the public can use the public plaza under a limited time. Mayor Mike Rama does not run out of "anti-poor" ideas whenever he finds out the poor are utilizing it to their advantage. And like what is happening to the public school scholarship grant he is reported to be finding ways and means to veto "maybe what he considers" as some points that are advantageous to the poor. It is unfortunate we have a city mayor "whose interest, inclination and heart" is not for the poor. It could not possibly be a problem to city residents if majority of the people are "born rich." But anywhere in the world it is always a "given" that the poor outnumbers the rich. And this kind of "heartless" reign is like those in the "biblical times" that tells us nothing stays forever and that everything "will have to come to an end" by the will of God. Look at the "ruthless" King Herod, look at Ferdinand Marcos, look at that "little girl" GMA - they are now powerless!

The day of reckoning is now fast approaching! In the elections to come next year, it is clear as the sun rises in the East the "probable" change to effect new leadership in the city hall and in the province will be ushered with emergence of these two known "pro-people personalities" - Tommy O and Junjun Davide - whose heart and mind pose a new hope to "provide more for those with less" in life.
