Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ANG PAGLISOD-LISOD SA MGA PENSIYONADO

I am a pensioner and my monthly take is less than P3,000. I'm just lucky I received my SSS notice at a time when I visited Cebu for a vacation with my family and was able to accomplish the personal confirmation requirement in my depository bank PNB otherwise. says its accompanying note, my monthly pension will be suspended if I do not show up 'till October 31. I find the present requirement difficult to follow especially if it happened I failed to personally show up because I'm residing now in the US. Having read this article and knowing that the present SSS leadership under Emilio S. De Quiros, Jr. is copying it from the "scrapped onerous GSIS requirement" it is high time for him to stop it and to find ways that is considered based  on "people friendly" policies so as not to subject countless member pensioners to so much difficulties. People like me who is already residing in the US should be allowed other means to personally confirm its current membership as a pensioner by getting a certification from Philippine consulate offices in the US, in case there is no chance for me to come home due to some unavoidable circumstances. 

The suggestion to make the personal confirmation every two to three years is laudable and I hope the SSS management under De Quiros will take it into consideration.
