Kaban ni D_BystandeR: PANAN-AW NI BONG

It's heartening to note that once again Bong Wenceslao of Sunstar has written a very fitting kind of article depicting in all sincerity his personal observation of how President Noynoy was able to wither all the unsavory talks that his political opponents had painted on him to make him appear not likable to idolize. 

His speaking prowess is not comparable in his recollection to that of the dictator Marcos who can make you "freeze" in your seats with amazement just by listening to him like the time when he delivered a speech for the first time in the United Nations  at the height of his popularity before his human pride and uncontrolled political power toppled him down in ignominy and overtook all his worthy credentials and lined him up to be eternally condemned and outrageously despised among the worst rulers the world has ever had.  But governing a country, as we all know, if you want to be remembered by your people with love and respect even after the lapse of so many years, is not measured by how well you conduct yourself in public speaking. A case in point is a story retold again and again if only to point out that a man can be as popular and beloved by his people just by showing how sincere you are in governing the country. 

The legendary Ramon Magsaysay, dubbed as the "man of the masses" was not a lawyer but was only a simple but modest mechanic in Zambales before he was elected to become our President in the early 50's was remembered to have asked a trusted cabinet member of his, at the height of an upsurge of prices of prime commodities at that time, for the reason why it happened that way and what triggered it. He was informed it was due to a law of supply and demand in economics. Upon hearing it and because he was concerned that the poor people will be adversely affected by it, he ordered through that cabinet member to find a way to repeal that law. It sounds funny but this example simply shows how that President's love of his people knew no boundary to the extent that he had given that order. This brings us back to the case of President Noynoy that according to Bong's personal account and insightful description into the President's personality, it is his towering greatness and remarkable personal asset of sincerity, honesty and above all his unwavering respect and trust to the legacy of his parents whose stature are considered comparable to our foremost national heroes, that serves as his guiding light in seeing to it that truthfulness and sincerity is his brand of leadership. 

That is why he was able to gain the trust and confidence and respect of our Muslim brothers in Mindanao to forge an agreement of understanding with the Philippine government to install that elusive peace pact as a remarkable breakthrough towards achieving a lasting peace in Mindanao.

Nahimo siyang mamumuo sa usa ka pribadong kompaniya sa dakbayan sa Sugbo, ESCANO LINES, sulod sa napulo ug duha (12) ka tuig  dayon niyang tapon  ngadto sa NAPOCOR  ug nahimong kawani sa kagamhanan  sulod sa bayente dos (22) ka tuig.
