I agree with the wisdom of Manong Johnny "not to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs." His other equally justified assertion that if only the purpose of the sin tax bill is to "kill" the tobacco industry, why not close down the tobacco factories and declare the sale of cigarettes illegal. This would be extremely viewed as sarcastic and sadistic because it would be just the same as ordering "death penalty" to legitimate tobacco growers for how will they survive the sudden disruption of their tobacco industry which is their only source of livelihood. A careful understanding of the situation is imperative that no "knee jerk" solution should be employed so as to arrive at a more resounding and justified approach that will be both beneficial to the "pros and cons" of the sin tax bill. 

The "old adage" that elderly views are considered more refined and wholesomely acceptable still holds true with the "blunt" explanation of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, who at 88, still commands respect among his peers and provides wonders and "exceptional wisdom" on some of the sensitive and burning issues of the day.
