All other countries' Navy are already here, they came thousand of miles away, yet where the heck is BRP Del Pilar and Alcaraz? It's embarassing, not only for our Navy  but for our national government, including the Senators and Congressmen who are  always allergic when we need to buy and maintain equipment but when it comes to their Pork Barrels they are willing to spend billions and billions of our money which end up in their pockets. This is a wake up call we reap what we sow. Where the heck are those grandstanding senators and congressmen that every time we want to buy choppers, hospital ships, airplanes, they complain "how many schools," how many houses we can build with those money and then we found out the money only ends in their pockets? Where are they? Ranting is an American pastime - a day won't pass without listening to any American complaining about anything under the autumn sun. This was clearly evident when US journalists say it as it is - the relief effort is too slow in the Philippines, that is a fair statement. Bureaucracy aside, we have to remember that Yolanda is 3 x the strength of Katrina. Even the US was overwhelmed when Katrina hit New Orleans and received the same amount of criticism. While the Americans can be given credit for being high tech gurus, the same can't be said about their effectiveness and efficiency. Case in point - the Obamacare website. As the world knows, the website was bedeviled by glitches that frustrated millions of consumers. If I were a CNN journalist, this will be my line. A high tech first world country cannot run a website live, due to technical glitches. I will bet my 401K plan that a Filipino techie can be outsourced and deliver a seamless website experience making it ready for prime time.

We are talking here about the typhoon disaster which our government has been found flat-footed and inept. No amount of monolithic defense from counter propagandist like you spewing nonsense about discussing the problematic Obamacare when we are here arguing about seemingly how  incompetent is the present administration by not working hard enough to be seen by people hitting the ground from Day 1 of the disaster to deliver the much needed basic necessities to typhoon victims. By the time relief goods coming from the government reach the place of the victims most of them have already died of hunger if not for the fast and effective help by  private entities. Something must be done by the administration's "bright boys" to redeem their "badly damaged" image seen worldwide about how incompetent they are to initiate fastand effective response without being too bureaucratic. What they gave priority instead was the sending of troops and armored vehicles to guard the interests of business establishments and also to drive away people from getting stacks of food piled in their warehouses waiting for LGUs to claim and distribute them to their barangays unmindful that the LGUs themselves were battling against the effects of the typhoon to their own families to save their lives. The troops, while holding to their armalites and instructed to train their guns to looters could have been effectively utilized to help in the distribution of much needed food to already starving survivors of the typhoon.
