That is what bothers me because some people, especially this Secretary General of Red Cross -International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Bekele Geleta is quick to downplay the urgency of what the United Nations has said urging foreign countries to make sustainable aid for 12 months considering the intensity of typhoon Yolanda which claimed almost 6,000 lives plus 1,700 missing and the untold large devastation of crops and properties. And the UN could have learned of how foreign funded assistance have slowly trickled down to some far flung places in the mountain barangays from some reliable sources where according to Party List groups people have to walk 10 to 30 kilometers of rugged terrain only to get a handful of rice and other items. And most of the folks they asked confided  they only received very little because in most cases DSWD would only prefer to do the distribution of relief goods in a place most convenient to them.

And  to think that foreign relief goods are still being repacked and it takes time. Instead of making immediate delivery to the hungry victims they are doing it according to their  "own time schedules." And in some cases, like what happened in Cebu, a prepacked food from Indonesia ready for distribution to typhoon victims had to be repacked because of a bottle of "ketchup" found inside the pack. They don't know that ketchup, if only not taken away, can help a lot to poor victims. And the  problem now is: What happens to the bottle of ketchup? Your guess is as good as mine!
