DILI HIMOONG MABAW ANG PANAN-AW, ARON
KAMATUORAN MAPATIGBABAW!!!
It pays to do a balancing act when it
comes to ferreting out the truth of every controversy. The much vaunted
observation of Agnes Callamard, United Nations Special Rapporteur, condemning the
EJK without getting the official side of
the Philippine government certainly invites the attention of those who believe in the spirit
of fair play and the rudiments of due process.
Hence, the word of the
newly-designated Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alan Cayetano, who called Agnes Callamard
" unfit" is like hitting a nail
on the head. Since when can an independent state be described as abusive and
violator of human rights per United Nations Charter? Is it when Callamard says
so? Is it within her official function to unilaterally declare the
administration of Digong as condoning or promoting EJK? Is her observation accepted by the United Nations
hook, line, and sinker even if the complete picture of the
controversy is not shown to warrant an impartial evaluation?
Doubtlessly, it is not. If it is so, then the whole force of the international
community must have been at our doorstep by now bombarding us with punitive measures and straightening the otherwise cruel
leadership being painted by Callamard against the
administration of Digong.
Callamard should
know better than just focusing on her myopic view. She must realize that the ultimate voice of the greatest number
of Filipinos who catapulted Digong to
power could not be swayed by unfounded, bias and arrogant monologue of someone with a
know-it-all personality, that's her.
