SAYON BA’NG ATUBANGON, KON IMONG KINITAAN SA BIR UKAYON???

Now it can be told. Lourdes Sereno had only seen the tip of the iceberg when she brought her case to  media expressing her innocence over her failure to submit her complete Statement of Assets Liabilities and Network (SAL-N) leading to her being unseated of the highest post as Chief Magistrate of our country.

Out of the blue, she is now confronted with a looming tax case. That is, if she  cannot satisfactorily provide answers to BIR  queries on her income dating back in 2004. Her public pronouncement on this matter is rather curt but meaningful. That providing the BIR with the required documents covering her income over the past years is difficult.

Candidly, this is the most opportune time to let her battery of lawyers hone their legal skills on reconciling her reported income with the actual expenses and acquisitions.

Note here that the documents evidencing proof of income are  verifiable. And the office to consult on matters of whether a taxpayer is evading tax payments is the BIR.

Let's hope that this time she can  pass through the proverbial eye of the needle. But so far, her deafening silence on this latest legal caper is deafening.  Good luck.. Ex CJ Lourdes Sereno.
