MANAGLAHI ANG DALAN SA KONSEHO UG EHEKUTIBO???
The
intention of Mayor Mike Rama to sell SRP lots to solve the drainage problem,
improve facilities and pursue
infrastructure projects such as re-blocking,
among others, is too good to be
true.
Now
comes this question, does he have the will to effectuate all these highly
ambitious projects? It has become crystal clear, the import of his words in
challenging the members of the pro-Osmeña-dominated City Council is appealing the emotion of the public. In the
process, putting the pro-Osmeña councilors in bad light.
Well,
it is too early to tell. It is too soon to jump over the fence and tell the world that everything is going
nowhere. Councilor Margot Osmeña’s
suggestion is a welcome development telling Mayor Mike to present his
proposal in the halls of City Council to
be thoroughly evaluated which can be taken as
the first step towards a journey of a thousand miles.
The
hard fact is that Mayor Mike must count on the strength of his own initiative to source out funds and bury the
hatchet with his political nemesis instead of fomenting discontent that promotes hatred and friction between the
executive and legislative. He is aware
that the City Council is geared towards observing the time-honored principle of
checks and balances.
If
excesses are impressed on the part of
Mayor Mike, then always expect an impasse because things may not be easy to
handle as it seems to be.
