This killing of a mother, 42, and her son, 20, in Barangay Lawaan 2, Talisay City cries for justice. They are law abiding citizens and her son has just arrived home after attending a Christmas midnight mass with friends and immediately went to sleep thereafter. But the killer employing  criminal treachery to carry on a dastardly act gained entrance reportedly through a hole in the floor and when he got close to the son who was already asleep pumped bullets into different parts of his head and body.

The mother doing something in the kitchen tried to call for help but she was also shot and hit fatally causing her death. Her son reached the hospital but did not last long and expired. The uncle of the son was reportedly just released from prison for a previous case early this year where his mother was attacked by his uncle and it was reportedly due to the efforts of the son that his uncle was put in prison. The hat found inside the house and believed left carelessly by the killer was said to be  the same as the one some witnesses say belonged to his uncle. The police can effectively pursue filing a case against the suspect and it could dig deeper into their investigation to gather more evidence against the suspect to make an "airtight" case. Viewing the  dilapidated house in the accompanying picture supplied by this news where the two victims lived, would surely suggest the kind of life they struggled with just to survive through lawful means. But their lives were cut short by an individual who strives with the forces of "darkness" in inflicting their sudden deaths.
