I am surprised with the number of negative comments piling up and I only noticed 2 positive comments in favor of Erap's heroic move to do it not only because he is in favor of protecting the interest of our OFWs working in Hong Kong but also because the lives of the Chinese tourists who perished in that botched rescue attempt are all very precious human lives that need our commensurate act to offer apology because of their tragic deaths. Protecting the pride of one man who continues to refuse to offer apology as demanded by Hong Kong government is unthinkable and unpatriotic. Erap is right and he needs more of our understanding. By doing this, he is doing a rare kind of  statesmanship. Even in his twilight years, Erap is still thinking of doing something for the good of our country. More power to you, Erap!

Footnote: Erap is making a heroic move to offer apology for the deaths of Chinese tourists in Luneta park in August 2010 considering that it happened in Manila and he is now the elected Mayor of the City of Manila. Despite P-Noy's insistence to decline to offer apology for the deaths of Chinese tourists as demanded by HK  government, Erap's move to apologize for it seems like a soothing balm to assuage the pain suffered by the grieving relatives. But the question is: Is it enough when what is demanded is for P-Noy to do it himself?
