Kaban ni D_BystandeR: NAPAMATUD-ANAN NA NI JVR ANG PAGPAKAMATINABANGON
How
I wished some of our public servants are doing the same generosity to the poor
as shown by Mayor JVR of Talisay City in his special concern shown to the poor
patients admitted to the Talisay City District Hospital. While some some people
may be inclined to follow his footsteps by shelling out his personal money to
at least lessen the financial burden during hospital confinement, the problem
will be on individual's intricate "bigness" of the heart for there
are even known millionaires who would not spend even a single centavo to help
the poor but will do everything all they way to build up a big business empire.
But some of them can follow his example by doing something to help improve the lot
of the poor in some other ways.
I don't know if Mayor JVR is doing it just
because it is what Pope Francis has repeatedlymade in urging national leaders
around the world to do something to help the poor. But JVR has been doing this
for the last 20 yearsstarting from the time he first launched his first
political dream to become a public servant until he succeeded in his 5th try,
this time as the elected Mayor of Talisay City. And this could be considered as
something that emanates from what his heart dictates. This man is worthy of our
respect, trust and confidence, and patronage! May your tribe increase, Mayor
JVR!
Mayor
JVR of Talisay City was off to a good start early in his term, accommodating
the Alayon Party councilors, giving them hefty quotas to hire Job Order workers
of their own. But things have changed and it is only natural for him to react
that way. Their refusal to give blanket authority for JVR to approve
transactions within a P3M amount just like what they did to Brad Soc during his
incumbency as the former Talisay City Mayor is clearly "unfair and
ill-timed," to say the least. They cannot blame JVR for what he did. If they want prosperity for Talisay
City to usher and flourish under JVR's administration, they should be prepared
to share and contribute for it to succeed, not that it will be a "one-way
traffic." They always want to receive and enjoy the kindness of JVR but they
don't want to reciprocate it?
