“GLITCH” ANG NAKAPASIPYAT SA BPI???
No matter how technical the term “glitch” is used by BPI to cover up its embarrassment from
the public, the undisputed fact remains
that bank data bases are vulnerable to anything; be it hacking issue or simply
an undetected problem due to human error like mispostings.
BPI should rise above suspicion and
be franked to its clients by admitting that its system could not give foolproof protection to them. The fiasco which
hangs over the head of BPI is clearly not the fault of its depositors who are
now reeling from the effects of not being able to get their money.
Banks like BPI must not only focus on
counting its profits by capitalizing on the weaknesses of its disgruntled clients but it must also be more
circumspect about giving them an environment of stability and
protection. BPI has obligation to
observe good faith in dealing with its clients and preserving people's
confidence who entrust their hard earned money to it in exchange for token
interest rates.
After all, how can BPI meet its famous tagline, "“we’ll take you
farther”with the current crisis that befalls it. It should endeavor not
to allow its clients to modify the tagline by saying, "we’ll take you farther
down the drain."
BPI, you better be good or you get lots of spanking from your irate clients.
