Kaban ni D_BystandeR: MAY PANAPI SA PAGPATRABAHO SA TUGPAHANAN SA SUGBO???
I find the editorial in
another news outlet convincing enough which vouched for the government to put
on hold the winning bidder for the MCIAA expansion plan and to proceed only
after the on-going inquiry conducted by the Senate and the House of
Representatives is fully accomplished.
To hastily proceed with the
project and ignore the "red flags" which the proponents of the
investigationhave cited is a move in the
wrong direction. It would certainly be a great disservice to our country if the
project will get snagged in the mid-stream because of our failure to clear the
way first before starting it. And it will be too late when the time comes where
the proponents of the inquiry will inevitably say: "we told you so!" And
besides, the numerous controversies connected with the government projects like
the airport project in Manila undertaken by a German company, the metro rail
project in Manila proposed by a Czechoslovakia company where bribery of P30M
was exposed, are only very recent happenings which require us to slow down and
be more cautious and to proceed only with prudence and circumspection.
