Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ABOGADO SA KAGAMHANAN SA DAKBAYAN SA SUGBO, NAG-ATUBANG UG ASUNTO???

Occupying a high profile position as Vice President for Administrative Services in a company engaged in Construction business in Leyte, particularly in the Yolanda-affected areas and at the same time being the official City Attorney of Cebu City, would surely invite some curious doubts from well-meaning  observers to ask in silence whether his decision to accept another big position in a private  company would not be considered to fall within what we call as "conflict of interest."

City Attorney Jerone Castillo's position in a  private company in Leyte could not have  possibly raised the eyebrows of some observers if his services were only limited to performing notarial services where his position can be considered a petty job and therefore  not enough to trigger a "conflict of interest." But his name is registered as the Vice President in that private company and it is a big position  that needs his focus and considerable interest. and this is where the "conflict of interest" arises.
