A significant number of people in Idaho, U.S.A as well as in other states vehemently opposed to the utilization of drones described as high-tech window- peeping.  Here, the government can monitor, record  and  scrutinize movements of people and in the process invade into their privacy without prior knowledge and consent in the guise of government's evidence-gathering efforts and enhancement of surveillance activities to curb criminality.

In the Philippines, we have not seen this kind of alarming reaction although we read in the papers that some flying objects believed to be drones crash- landed.

We must be thankful, we have no drones but "anananggals" and "aswangs" hovering at night in search of fresh meat but we cannot file protest against these dubious threats as yet considering that they only exist in name but never in substance.
