It
was due to Gonzales (Emilio Gonzales III) perverted way of exercising his
powers as Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and other Law Enforcement Offices that
the late Capt. Rolando Mendoza has lost his "patience" and was moved
to make a drastic action against the lives of innocent Chinese tourists whom he made as "hostages" in exchange
for acquiring justice in a telephone conversation he had with Gonzales
immediately prior to the "massacre." And Gonzales was disclosed/heard
in that conversation to have asked Capt. Mendoza to "shell out" a
certain amount of money to get justice he desired. And Mendoza, who became
despondent because of his impending retirement and thought he could not produce
the needed amount of money, was moved to commit the "unexpected" bloodbath
thereby causing the useless deaths of innocent
tourists. I don't know what moved the SC to declare Gonzales innocent of the
reasons/charges for which he was dismissed by Malacanang. Maybe, it is out of
pity because he will soon be retiring next month, just like the case of Capt.
Mendoza.
Footnote:
Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices Emilio
Gonzales III dismissed by Malacanang due to the bloody hostage in Rizal Park on
August 23, 2010 has been absolved by the Supreme Court. He has been trying to
reclaim his post since October 2012 or a month after the Supreme Court ruled in
his favor. He is scheduled to retire next month. Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales
issued a status quo ante order barring Gonzales from immediately reassuming his
post. The court, she said, has yet to act on a pending motion for clarification
filed by the Official of the Solicitor General.
