Kaban ni D_BystandeR: NAGKAHIUSA HUMAN GIBUWAG NI YOLANDA
There
is no other sweetest thing to behold in our mind than to learn of the unexpected meeting
between the mother and son who were separated away from each other for days by
factors most of which is dictated by the natural force of nature - typhoon
Yolanda - in Tacloban City and for reason of poverty. God has His own reason for
helping the two met again with the help of a man who accidentally spotted the
5-year old boy standing alone in a place full of filth amid the ruins created
by that monster typhoon, hungry and with nobody to turn to but only survived
miraculously through his own resourcefulness. And then the Red Cross took a
pivotal turn that helps the boy met his
mother again in a very dramatic happening which could clearly touch the human hearts.
Footnote:
The boy was sitting on a pile of debris and filth on a deserted road in
Tacloban City. The 5-year old boy appeared to have been abandoned, seemingly
forgotten amid the ruins. A Red Cross volunteer, Mumar Avila took pity on the
boy. "He brought the boy home and bathed him and gave him food to eat.
Then he brought the boy to the Leyte Chapter Office," said Jennifer Chico,
the administrator of the Red Cross in Tacloban City. It was through the help of
the Red Cross that the mother and son were reunited to each other. The boy's
name is Gabriel and his mother is Rosanna, a single mother.
