The promotion of Associate Justice Gabriel Ingles to become the new Executive Justice of the Court of Appeals in Cebu Station is a welcome development considering his exemplary conduct in handling different highly responsible positions in the past with known success and competence. My lawyer son who studied law in USC before while Justice Ingles was still the USC Dean of College of Law would sometimes tell me some good and remarkable stories about him.

His ability to say NO to the monthly subsistence allowance dangled to judges by the City Hall and the Capitol is already something that would tell us how straightforward he is in his interpretation and treatment of the sensitive positions he handled before. In other words, he is a man with delicadeza which we can rarely find from the ranks of people handling sensitive positions nowadays. The Cebuanos are proud of his promotion and sincerely hope and trust he will be able to live up to the people's expectation. Here's wishing more power to the new EXECUTIVE JUSTICE GABBY INGLES!!!
