Mr.
Moonlight:
I
am in favor of Federal System. Cebu is the most progressive province in the
entire Philippines, although it is not getting big budget allocation from the
national government, the development of economy, peace and order, tourism,
quality of life are far better than in Metro Manila. Only idiots and those who
have not visited Cebu will disagree.
Mr.
Moonlight:
Obviously
this motherfuuuucking Neal Cruz hates Cebuanos. He claimed Serge Osmena has
ambition to run for president. Neal Cruz must be hallucinating, he must be
taking shabu regularly.
Mr.
Moonlight:
I
don't usually read Neal Cruz column but I'm not giving him easy pass on this one.
IT IS MISLEADING, IT IS DECEPTION! PDI should throw him out and dump him in the
trash container.
Mr.
Moonlight:
The
truth of the matter is this. Serging Osmena's vision of Cebu was very much like
Singapore. But as fate would have it, it was not meant to be. Osmena was huge
victim of largest and unprecedented election cheating. And who was the biggest
loser? Neal Cruz knew the cheating, he was already an adult when it happened.
That was 1969!
Mr.
Moonlight:
Hey
motherfuuuucking Neal Cruz do not mislead the readers. Serging lost in his own
province because of tremendous cheating. Clearly, Marcos outsmarted Osmena, the
only province that Osmena won was Pampanga because of Ninoy Aquino. The cheating
was hugely widespread, it covered from Batanes to Jolo. And why you had no
objection on Marcelo Fernan Bridge, motherfuuuucker?!

This
Neal Cruz writes well. But his article about a so-called "battle of
Mactan" is a bridge too far for him to know. His phrase-making and
wordsmithing don't make him a better person to know of the history of Cebu and
the region, including Mindanao, which has a stake in what's going on in the
commercial and spiritual center of the south. How can Cruz be better informed
than the nine (9) Cebuano congressmen who are for renaming the Mactan bridge to
Serging Osmena? Osmena Jr. has the misfortune of being outshone by the
illustrious father, but rightly so. The father at 28 was the Speaker of the
House of Representatives that ranked him only second to the American Governor
General in 1907. But when it comes to their home province of Cebu, I would say,
and I say it with first hand knowledge, that his record has been forgotten
because of his long feud with Marcos and his warlords in the province. The
former president's junior, Serging, and his grandson, Lito Osmena, have done
more to make his
grand
dreams for his province come true. His immediate concern during his time was
political freedom of the Philippines. But not his son, Serging, and his
grandson, Lito. Serging was the architect of the plan to move the Cebu airport
from Lahug to Mactan island. And it was him who pursued the idea of building a
bridge to connect the two islands. If not for Serging, there would have been no
reclamation that expanded the reaches of the city in all directions. His
grandson, Lito, on the other hand, is credited for the CeBOOM. If Neal Cruz has
nothing better to write about he should not think of something else rather than
fly and go far south and make a fool of himself.

By
trying his luck to claim more insights to Cebu's complicated political history,
Neal H. Cruz of PDI has only succeeded in trumpeting his ignorance on the widely
despised old political ploy hurled at him by his political opponents to
besmirch the highly regarded political leadership of Serging Osmena in Cebu. To
remember the nostalgic headlines of old like, "Cebu goes wherever Serging
is," only serves to impress and reminisce his political dominance, integrity
and leadership in Cebu during his lifetime. To cite Marcos garnering majority
of 40,000 votes over Serging in his Cebu home province alone in that 1969
election is only trying to resurrect the unsettled charges of widespread election fraud, of the cheating and
intimidation committed by Marcos against Serging in that shamefully discredited
election which earned the name, "DAYAAN 1969"
instead
of "HALALAN 1969." No amount of distorting facts from Neal Cruz about
Serging's credibility to deserve a bridge to be named after him can ever
overcome the steadfast belief, dedication and resoluteness affirmed through the
recommendation of the nine Cebu congressmen to re-name the Mandaue-Mactan
Bridge after him.

Serging
lost in Cebu because of the massive cheating undertaken by the henchmen of
Marcos.
