I
am surprised why the order came out to transfer the 4 accused HPG officers to
the national headquarters in Camp
Crame
when they are the subject of a case filed by the NBI here in Cebu against them.
I find this move intriguing because it appears that these 4 accused will have a
hard time attending to their courttrial dates in Cebu because they are now to
be transferred far away in Manila. Can we consider this move a clever strategy
tryingto make it hard for our courts in Cebu to try them of their involvement in
the crime against Archival, et al? If this is not intended to sabotage the
ongoing trial of the case against them, why not just let them stay in their
Cebu station so they can readily attend to their trial when the need arises?

That's
what the HPG does whenever one of their own is facing a rap. I don't know about the other three but
Galan and Mara are permanent Cebu residents and relocating them outside the region would make the
commute difficult in case they have to attend hearings aside from the fact that
they will also be suspended which meansno money for air or sea fare. Why not
just relieve them totally from the HPG and transfer them to the local police?
