Kaban ni D_BystandeR: TAPHAW ANG AYUDA SA KAGAMHANAN ALANG SA MGA GIYOLANDA???
This Aquino administration
is playing on the lives of the poor people in Tacloban City and its neighboring
areas. Instead of helping them rebuild their lives to move on the people got
stuck on a onerous government restriction that prohibits them to go back to
their dwelling place before the disaster because of the "No build zone
declared area" imposed by the government - a 40-meter-distance from the
seashore.
Five months after the
strongest and deadliest typhoon Yolanda hit the country most specifically Tacloban
City and surrounding areas by unleashing horrifying force of more than 300 kmh
that claimed more than 6,200 lives, the survivors of that worst disaster are
still grappling for means to survive in the face of that government
"restriction." The people who originally lived there went back to
rebuild their homes only to be told that all they can do is to setup temporary
dwellings. And they cannot even make modest extension to properly accommodate their
family members who are tightly congested inside their shelter. And what is
stupefyingly scary is that everyday they face the gruesome prospect of being
driven away from their "homes" because of the reality that they live
in the government declared "no build zone." The government is not
giving them clear-cut solution to help the poor of what to do to improve their
lives. There is no resettlement site, a place where they can transfer if it is
really sincere and honest to help them. They are left in quandary and are
facing a blank wall of what the future
will be for them, for their family and their loved ones. It is outrageously a
kind of anti-poor restriction and the government is not doing anything to
improve their lot.
Are the national leaders a
"bunch of sadists" who can only ill-afford to see the citizenry live
a life full of uncertainties not knowing what is in store for them in the near
future? The grim prospect of people held in an area where they cannot move freely
to improve their lives because of that "restriction" is causing them untold hardships and sleepless nights.
When can the government gather enough strength to bring itself back to its
senses to be able "to give them a break" from this seemingly endless
hopelessness?
