It's easy to detect a
writer's inclination if his piece is telling the truth or headed to the gutter
or, if, in the course of presenting his premise in the inter-plays of ideas he
tries to draw a line in his syllogism in preparation for what he wants to come
up. And yet after reading the whole thing, I cannot help but be reminded of how
Bong W. has allowed his pen to be prostituted in the past in the name of politics.
In the waning days of Ex-Gov. Gwen's term, I
found out how his highly acquired status as a trusted, dependable and respected
columnist easily crumbled into nothing because of politics. (And this reminds
me of an old Western movie entitled: "For A Few Dollars More!"). And
now I'm afraid the dirty hands of politics has again revisited his pen and it
could be seen in his unusual hostile views strongly made in an attempt to
becloud with doubt and ridicule the reputation of the personalities he
lengthily discussed there in his column.
Footnote: I cannot understand why Bong W. tries
to assail the personalities of Mayor JVR and his appointed TCC President Dr.
Paulus Canete when Mayor JVR was even trying to hold his patience over the
insult he received from the earlier graduation rites held for TCC where the
City Mayor was not even invited to attend it, even for the sake of showing
respect to the position, and much more, Mayor JVR's name did not also appear in
their program. Under the prevailing circumstances, it was only natural and
proper that Mayor JVR should uphold the honor and prerogative of his Office by
holding that so-called second graduation rites for TCC students.
