To think that the Taiwanese fisherman was unarmed at that time, the use of superior force as shown by the boat bearing 50 bullet holes from the attacking Coastguard is questionable. If they want to, they can apprehend him alive and let the  wheels of justice take care of everything rather than kill an unarmed fisherman whose only mistake was to be at the wrong place and at the wrong time. And this incident could possibly  trigger several unhealthy repercussions as far as the employment of our hundreds of OFWs working in Taiwan right now. The  thought of seeing these OFWs possibly feeling the brunt of such "mindless" action of some "utak pulbora" coastguard authorities delegated the responsibility of protecting our coastlines is a cause

of concern for our Philippine government in view of the outrage the case has triggered in Taiwan. It is worthy cause to ponder  that our coastguard authorities are selective in their decision to use "superior force" because we did not hear them to be "trigger happy" in the previous confrontation with Chinese vessels found in Scarborough Shoals during that episode.

I cannot understand why some comments here are taking the arrogant position they seem not to bother what's life's true value to a man and his relatives considering that he is already attaining seniority age being at 65. I could see comments as if bragging they got the superior firepower over an unarmed fisherman but cannot see them posting  comments like that when facing in front of big and mightier ships from China in that Scarborough Shoals standoff. And to think that thousands of our OFWs are working in Taiwan to earn a living made me think to shiver in disbelief of how insensitive and unchristian they could be.
