I can imagine why Pacquiao got a cold reception at the airport from Malacanang after coming home from his latest fight abroad which gave him the most controversial split decision in his entire boxing career because he was not among the 188 congressmen who supported the impeachment charges filed against the now-deposed CJ Corona. We cannot tell how many other controversial personal decision he could make in the future to widen the gap of otherwise wholesome relationship he had earlier tried to establish his rapport with Noynoy. But one thing is clear. Manny got a heart that bleeds for the poor, especially to his constituents who become victims of a violent weather disturbance. Giving a sack of rice for each family with P10,000 cash personally from his own pocket because government help takes time to arrive is totally unprecedented in the political annals of our country. I tried to scan my memory of similar humanitarian effort being done by a single individual like what Manny is doing now but there was none. 

There are many rich people out there, maybe far richer in many other ways than him but none of them can imitate his "displayed greatness" because their "heart" is not made for the poor. With this record great performance of Manny, he will forever be enshrined in the  unnamed, "Halls of Greatness," and successfully carved an immortal niche or a grandiose pedestal for himself that cannot be erased with the passage of time.
