Kaban ni D_BystandeR: NABANHAW ANG GILUMUTAN NANG ASUNTO BATOK NI KANHI MAYOR ALVIN
Nobody would ever think,
even in his wildest dream that a case that took place 30 years ago will finally
get the "go signal" from the Supreme Court to proceed. But people
familiar with the intricacy of the law and with how it operates can only marvel
with near disbelief of how amazing it is for what they call "the long arm
of the law" to finally resonate with resounding impact. The case, in my personal
belief, could not anymore mean anything drastic against the older Alvin Garcia
who for now, as news reports would have it, is keeping himself busy attending
to their farms in southern Cebu and trying to flex his muscles from time to
time by playing golf. At least, even at his present age of 68, a man sometimes has
to face something as a result of his actions during his younger days who was
probably still driven by his belief that being in the crest of his acquired political
power he can do anything he wants to promote his political dreams.

News headline, "Cebu trial ordered for Garcia's 1984 reelection
