The fact that "nobody filed charges against Ciriaco delos Santos after he killed Inspector Crisanto Abella allegedly due to fear as he was a cousin of Mayor Nicomedes delos Santos" could be true. A review of what Mayor delos Santos  gave to the media to account for the killing incident, he did not say anything against his cousin who is the killer but chose to "paint" a bad image reputation on the part of the slain police chief by calling him a "drunkard." He should have acted to refrain from issuing statements that would clearly reflect his bias against the victim. Mao pay namatay sa gibuhat sa iyang ig-agaw, unya iya pang tiwasan pinaagi sa "pagnusnus ug asin sa samad" sa mga nagbangutan nga pamilya sa polis.

Footnote: This comment came out in connection with a TF headline, "'No politics in police chief's death,' mayor." Mayor Nicomedes delos Santos of Alcoy, Cebu should not have allowed his personal relation with the killer of the town's police chief to prevail over the idea of respecting the honor and memory of the slain victim.
