Kaban ni D_BystandeR: WALAY KALUOY SI MAYOR MIKE SA MGA KABOS???

When the city council sent a resolution to Mayor Mike Rama for a "one year moratorium" on demolition of houses in the city, I was thinking he would be interested to approve it and would not veto it because of a recent court  demolition order issued to demolish houses of informal settlers in barangay Englis, Cebu City where Mayor Mike Rama actively interceded on behalf of the  dwellers that the demolition be temporarily held in abeyance and even  instructed VM Labella to see to it that no demolition be done in his absence for he was scheduled to leave for Japan that day to perform a speaking  engagement there. And the city government was able to cut a deal with the lot owner who agreed that demolition will only be done later on November 30. And one of the occupants there involved as covered by that demolition order was reported to be his cousin. Now I begin to realize that demolition order even if ordered by the courts would be defied by Mayor Mike if his relative is involved. And that is one kind of a selective justice which would only depend on Rama's personal judgment if he wants to hold it in abeyance because a relative of his is involved. And here comes the city council resolution which would have given him a peace of mind for a period of one year if he only approved the moratorium and yet he wants to show that he has a stony heart for the poor despite the  fact that Pope Francis has even earnestly issued his appeal to world leaders to treat the poor in their communities with compassion. I will not be surprised if Mayor Mike will lose his bid for re-election as city mayor of Cebu City in next year's election to Tommy O because he does not deserve to be there in the city hall because of his distorted view towards the poor in the city.
