The winner in Tennessee Lottery, John Robinson, is pictured with his wife Lisa and their daughter, and Rebecca Hargroove, president and CEO of Tennessee Lottery who presents the check of about $327M out of the total $533M if they chose to take it in 30 annual  installments. But the couple chose to take only a portion of the pie because they said  they are "not sure if they are still alive tomorrow." But according to a study by Robert Williams, a professor of health sciences and gambling studies at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, he told Business Insider's Shana Lebowitz, that perhaps the biggest problem with modern lottery is how they portray the effects of winning . "They deceptively convey the notion that life will improve," he says, when in fact, "we adapt to our material gains."  "In other words, while you might be happy for the first few months after you hit the jackpot, eventually that elation will wear off and you'll have new concerns, like the stock market, Lebowitz writes. Another problem that sudden wealth can lead to, is lack of structure in your daily life, warns Robert Pagllarini, author of "The Sudden Wealth Solution," who has spent 20 years working with sudden wealth recipients.  "We are used to having structure in our day. We get up, go to work, look forward to the weekends. We have challenges and goals we are pursuing," he tells Business Insider. "Sudden wealth can flip all of this on its lead. When we have more money than we could ever spend, most people quit their job, but the job provides many of us with structure, a sense of purpose, and a great deal of our social interaction. Remove this and it leaves a big void." The odd of a chance to win a jackpot is: one in 292.2M, USA Today reports - but someone's 2016 will start in style.

Footnote: This came out of a news item taken from Yahoo News, entitled, "These Tennessee couple may have won $327M in the Powerball Lottery - but they won't necessarily be happy." It came out on January 20, 2016. The Powerball Lottery considered as the first to reach a whopping prize of $1,6B took place recently in the US and there were 3 winners reported in 3 different places, and one of them was in Tennessee.
