MANAGSAMA ANG TANAN SA MATA SA BALAOD???
"I'll quit if my son is into
corruption" words of Digong that hug the media these days. If we take his
words hook, line, and sinker, then we'll probably have no Digong to greet us in
December 2017.
The reality check however is this. Digong will always be a firebrand
leader. Let's give him credit to his colorful words because it sets the tone of
a strong persona in him. His critics have a hard time finding blunders on his management style and policy-making
strategy, with the way he shattered the establishment, the oligarchs, and the
wily trapos.
The Bureau of Customs controversy is
a complex matter to tackle. While witness Taguda, mentioned the Vice Mayor of Davao City as
part of the Davao Group who smuggled goods but he never saw or met him.
By itself, such declaration
implicating the Vice Mayor is nothing but air of suspicion which can never stand
the test of moral certainty. It is best for investigators to dig deeper into
the controversy in its entirety.
Clearly, no one is above the law. Anyone
who is found committing acts in violation of existing laws must be prosecuted
to the fullest extent.
