Instinctively, people come to places where they are assured of comfort and elegance. In today's fast pacing lifestyle, hotels, resorts, and high-end gambling arena have become the mecca of people from the  upper class of social strata to splurge and enjoy.

Resorts World Manila, has everything. It's the fabulous place frequented by VIP guests, famous entertainers, politicians and  gambling patrons because of its amenities which are second to none in the Philippines.

Yet,  the recent bloodbath which accounted to 38 victims that happened at the heart of the resort is not only nightmarish but one that captivates imagination as well. Terrorist-style attack has finally reared its ugly head high enough to reach highly-urbanized area victimizing people  who we would last expect to fall prey into this dastardly act. People who could afford a better life, ended up paying with their lives resulting from this unfortunate incident. 

He who is the cause of the cause, is the cause of the evil caused. Without the gun-wielding assailant who burned casino tables and other flammable materials, death caused by suffocation of the victims would  have never occurred. Attention must be had not only on  the physical cause of  death of the victims, but on the intrusion of an unwanted guest who committed the cowardly act with clear impunity.

Surprisingly, the identity of the lone gunman has yet to be known. No relatives, friends or associates called in to identify him. What is mind-boggling here is that the authorities seem to be at a loss to inform the public about the true  status  of the peace and order situation in Metro Manila and other outlying urban centers. Dismissing the carnage as caused by a gambling lunatic seemed far-fetched and outlandish to say the least. Not a single casino habitue could tell his name either, if indeed he was a high-stakes gambler before he transformed himself into a murderer.

Not too long ago, Quiapo area, became the site of a series of bombings which authorities attributed to hatred of a group against a cleric.

The people are anxious. Simply, they want the real score to be told.
