Koko should let IT
professionals handle technical aspects like PKI keys which is generated by
software to safeguard against hijacking encrypted data for ulterior motives
while data are in transit. PKI keys are trusted worldwide and should not be
questioned by incompetents who can't even understand what Public key and
Private key as used in PKI was meant for. For public Info, PKI is a method of
creating keys for encrypting/decrypting data traveling on the Internet sites
for legitimate usage by paired parties in communication. When we log on for
emails, our passwords are encrypted as the server tried to provide us as access
to email service. It generates a pair of disposable keys, that is meant for
one-time use only and discarded. The pair of keys are unique itself and
composed of a public key and a counterpart private key. The public key part is
sent to the user to encrypt any data that was expected to be sent back to the
server later by the user. The private key part is never sent out but
retained in the server (web site) where it will be used later to decrypt the
encrypted data that is expected to come later. Only that particular unique
private key half can work to allow decryption of data. In that way, data
security is assured when PKI is invoked because there is no way for anybody to
know what is the private key generated and sent out to a particular user.
The public key is only good for encrypting, but never can it be used for
decryption. So intercepting it will not compromised the encrypted data, because
the decryption key was never sent out ! Think about a unique mechanical key
where it can only be used for locking, but that same key cant be used to open
the lock. The only key that can open the lock stays at home in a secure place.
So if we have such a lock, then stealing the item that was locked with such
kind of padlock may still mean nothing to any thief ! PKI means Public Key
Infrastructure. It's invention helps secure the wide acceptance and trust for
users to do e-commerce. Koko may be a Bar topnotcher, but he is no IT
professional and should never even mentioned public key and private key as if
it was a sinister thing that should be exposed !
