Kaban ni D_BystandeR: GIBASURA ANG SUMBONG SA MGA MANGINGISDA BATOK NI MAYOR RICKY

The dismissal of a complaint by fishermen under GFFA (Gibitngil Farmers and Fisherfolks Association) against Mayor Ricky Ramirez of Medellin, Cebu filed in the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas is expected. Most likely in a case where members of poor people's association are pitted against a rich and influential public official the outcome will be lopsided in favor of the mighty.

The mayor has all the money and influence to hire the best lawyer in town while the poor fisherfolks could only depend upon the free legal services given by PAO (Public Attorney's  Office) lawyers. One particular information of the complaint that made me awfully quiver in disbelief was that when one of the complainants was narrowly missed by the bullet fired from the gun of the mayor probably a "few inches" away from sure death when the mayor fired a shot. But the investigator of the case found the complaint improbable considering the responsible position of the mayor and that he could not believe the mayor can do it. There are things which are hard to prove even if one's life was closely put in the brink of death. The would-be victim was just exceptionally lucky it was not his time yet to go or he could already be "six feet below" by now.
