Kaban ni D_BystandeR: PAGPANGGUKOD

Political persecution is applied by those in power to advance their political interest. But in this case where the city hall is indebted to Asian College of Technology (ACT) to the tune of P119M it is too much! And the city hall "bright boys" want to prolong the agony of the school despite the fact that their non-payment of their school obligation to ACT of its scholarship program dates back to year 2010 when a certain Philip Banguiran filed a case in the office of the Ombudsman against ACT. And to think that the school owned by Congressman Bebot Abellanosa still continues to accept students for the city's scholarship program only highlights the school's mounting agony with the passage of time with no clear sign in sight yet when the city hall under Mayor Mike Rama will pay its huge and escalating debt to the school.

They try to cling to the idea that payment is preconditioned to the outcome of a case filed by one Philip Banguiran in the Ombudsman as explained by lawyer Joey Daluz, a city hall executive assistant. We are fortunate that Cong. Bebot is gifted with a "big heart" that is why his school still continues to accept scholarship students. But we should be aware that everything has its limit. And the city hall in this case is clearly playing politics to the hilt gambling on the future of our city scholars. Sometimes, it is one's basic grasp to his responsibility that will finally awaken a person from his stupor and criminal negligence. And right-thinking Cebuanos expect it from Mayor Mike Rama if he still has anything left of his delicadeza to pay the city's debt to ACT.
