FREDDIE AGUILAR SUED for qualified seduction. A lawyer who claimed he was offended by the "romantic relationship" of multi-awarded folk singer Freddie Aguilar with a 16-year-old girl charged the latter before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office for qualified seduction.  The controversial relationship by Aguilar with the minor girl which has become a hot topic in the past few days has compelled lawyer Fernando Perito, a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), to bring the matter to the court.  At the Prosecutor's Office, Perito told members of the Quezon City Press Club that he was suing Aguilar for qualified seduction under Article 337 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC). He explained he has the obligation and duty to do what is right and prevent what is wrong being an IBP member.  Perito, in a two-page complaint-affidavit, said: "I was outraged, offended, scandalized by the daring and shameful sexual exhibitions of this sex hungry child predator by the name of Freddie Aguilar who bragged publicly that he is in love with a 16-year-old innocent girl."  He believed that the minor girl must have looked at Aguilar, who became globally famous for his "Anak" song, as being a good and popular singer.  "Yet, this (Aguilar) cradle snatcher wants to take advantage of the adulation of the child by pretending to be loving her and allegedly marrying her later, this old man deserves to be castrated to spare the children," the complaint-affidavit read.  "His (Aguilar) admission in the television showed, he even had the temerity and boldness to brag and challenge that he is in love, he is lusting. One picture shows him fingering the child between her legs," the visibly enraged Perito said. The admission and the public display of Aguilar's demonstration of love and affection had violated morals and ethics on separating the adult from a child and from the pry and the predator, he said. "As if to show his macho-image, Aguilar distributed his pictures of an infinite and never-ending hugs and lips to lips kisses with his body stuck like a leech to the young girl's body. What this old man had done was to prey on the innocent child enough to be his grandfather after allegedly being separated from his wife which is no excuse," Perito further said. He also argued that Aguilar's defense of being deceived by the height of the innocent girl because of her age is "hogwash" since he thought she was already of age.

"The offender, an old man, has an authority and moral influence over the child because of his popularity. And he must have de-virginized her already every now and then," the complainant added.  The lawyer also believed that the young girl's parents must similarly be held accountable if they have found to have allowed the relationship to go on. Undoubtedly, having the child in his (Aguilar) home and company, the conclusion is the old man had been engaging in all kinds of sexual orgies with the child and if the parents consented, they should be held criminally liable, Perito said.
