Kaban ni D_BystandeR: GIDAGINOT ANG PANGINABUHI KAYSA MGA KRIMINAL???

CPPO Director Sr. Supt. Noel Gillamac seems to be putting more importance in focusing his attention to the arrest of PUJ drivers facing "thousands of fines in pesos" for their driving violations over the years committed in Cebu City. Failure of Citom management to make earlier arrest to enforce discipline and settle the score would have been better strictly enforced first rather than wait for the accumulation of fines to pile up then to conduct punitive action against them which is "ill-advised." We should know that being a PUJ driver is a "thankless job" for what you earn is barely enough to make "both ends meet" considering the spiraling prices of gas where passenger's fare is regulated by the government. For all we know, the province under the jurisdiction of Director Gillamac is saddled with more pressing problems of "law and order," more important than the punitive campaign he has decided to wage against the erring drivers in view of the Citom official prodding him to do so. The number one problem is illegal drugs and the rising crime incidence due to increasing poverty befalling the country.

If he is eyeing on the "huge amount" the city expects to collect from the erring drivers on account of the fines, he better forget about it because PUJ drivers are as "poor as a rat." They are not like "drug lords" who command big monetary accounts in the banks. PUJ driver's job is a "thankless job," I repeat. If Citom wants to instill discipline they should revised their way of thinking to be more successful by introducing effective seminars to drivers to get positive results.
