Kaban ni D_BystandeR: KALANDRAKAS SA POLITIKA, NAKAPATANGTANG SA MGA BOLUNTARYO'NG MAGTUTUDLO

I cannot understand why the "Teacher Aide Volunteers" (TAV) of Talisay City numbering 62 (not 60 in other news headline) hired from May and June has suddenly become "midnight appointees."

If they were not connected as TAV teachers prior to May and June and all of them just received their appointments therefrom (within the cited 2-month period) then the claim of being "midnight appointees" might be true. But if they had already been there working as such even prior to May and June and they only got new appointments starting May as a means of "renewal" (because they are considered "casuals" and as such they get periodic renewals) then they could not be considered as such - "midnight appointees" - in the real sense of the word. They should even be given "first priority" to apply for the newly opened permanent positions by the new administration (without looking at any political color) as a way of extending "thanks" for sacrificing themselves to accept the teaching job earlier with such meager "salary" (only P8,000/mo.) because some of them could be working there for several months or years due to their primary obsession to find a job and to make use of their teaching eligibility.

I am glad my daughter resigned there (as TAV) earlier to find a regular teaching assignment in another town and did not experience the same sad fate the TAVs now endure. If they are truly "not midnight appointees" as charged I beseech the kind consideration of Mayor JVR on their behalf for I know this Mayor is, as far as I know and have observed,  different from the others for he is a man of reason. That is why, if Mayor JVR will only have enough time to make a review of my "written contributions" to this newspaper and to other local dailies during the last election, he will know that I have constantly batted for him because I was convinced that his political platform of government is good and remarkable.

Magtatampo usab siya isip magsusulat sa nasudnong magasin,  "Philippines Free Press" ug sa mga nag-unang peryodiko dinhi sa dakbayan sa Sugbo sa lunhaw pa ang iyang pangedaron. Nahimo siyang mamumuo sa usa ka pribadong kompaniya sa dakbayan sa Sugbo, ESCAÑO LINES, sulod sa napulo ug duha (12) ka tuig  dayon niyang tapon  ngadto sa NAPOCOR  ug nahimong kawani sa kagamhanan  sulod sa bayente dos (22) ka tuig. Niadtong tunga-tungang bahin sa tuig 2000, nilalin siya ngadto sa tinipong nasod sa Amerika ug sulod sa napulo (10) ka tuig, nagtrabaho siya sa  buhatan sa kagamhanan sa nasod sama  sa  UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (USPS).  Karon sa pangedaron nga 68,  gihuptan gihapon niya ang walay pagkutat nga kadasig ug walay busganan nga kaikag sa pagpaambit sa iyang nahuptang abilidad  ug kabatid sa panulat.  Dili niya mapugngan ang kaugalingon sa pagpaambit sa iyang mga hunahuna labi na kon molambigit kini ug hisgotanan nga makadani sa iyang mga mata.
