Kaban ni D_BystandeR: GIPAGAMAY NI MIDAS ANG PANGAHENTE NI MA'AM ARLENE SA HUSTISYA???

I can understand the seemingly lukewarm interest of Midas Marquez, the Supreme Court Administrator, about this "Ma'am Arlene" story which broke out recently in an expose made in Philstar by its reporter, a certain Mr. Bondoc. It tells  about the emerging huge "court mess" being undertaken by this "Ma'am Arlene" where "big time" cases of her wealthy clients are secretly fixed with the kind of "influence" that knows no bounds even in the sacred halls of the Supreme Court.

It was gathered that her influence over the SC justices includes the lavish "gift-giving" of highly luxurious items to the wives of the SC justices during Christmas season. Her influence is said to be felt mostly in Manila court area. But Midas Marquez downplayed the role of "Ma'am Arlene" saying it is nothing compared to the "P10B pork barrel scam of Janet Lim-Napoles" involving the lawmakers. His dry reaction seemed to suggest he is not interested to pursue the investigation to get to the bottom of it. And knowing his "muddy" reputation during the time when the nation was at the height of the impeachment trial in the Senate against the ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona would not give us any surprise if he behaves that way in the face of the discovery of this notorious "Ma'am Arlene." Who knows he must have some "dirty linens" in his closet with regards to this "Ma'am Arlene" that is why he is not so steadfastly inclined to strongly support the said investigation. But a couple of days ago, I read in Philstar about the news that SC Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno contacted DOJ Sec. Leila de Lima in connection with the desire of the former to enlist the help of the latter to let the NBI (which is under the jurisdiction of the DOJ) take over active participation in the investigation of "Ma'am Arlene" story which is at present undertaken by the Office of the SC Administrator Midas Marquez.

Having heard of this development I can now heave a sigh of relief knowing how seriously devoted is the DOJSecretary in dealing with assignments entrusted to her especially those involving "sensitive assignments" that need immediate tangible results.
