I am tempted to read in full Guerrero A. Adaza's opinion because he mentioned Homobono his older brother whose legal exploits I had read in the papers during the turbulent period of the 80's. He narrated a lifelong experience portraying his own legal battles in different arenas. But what caught my interest was when he talked about the impeachment trial of the midnight CJ Corona. As a columnist worth his salt, I find his assessment of how JPE, the Presiding Officer of the impeachment court who, according to him, poorly handled the proceedings thereby allowing Corona to take his time parroting his 3-hour uninterrupted introduction where he touched on different personalities and lambasted them with gusto.

He said, "Mr. Enrile should fade away from the scene and disappear quietly for his hypocrisy and pretensions are too obvious to remain not noticeable." As for Corona's behavior he called it "tragic." And he said, "Instead of establishing his defense well, he bungled it." He is for Corona's conviction but how to do it is a problem because of the present set-up and composition of the senator-judges.
