ANG GIHAKGOM NGA PROBLEMA TALI SA PILIPINAS UG TAIWAN

Our country is clearly not in the best position to demand on the bargaining table. At this stage, we have seen enough pandemonium arising from the death of a Taiwanese fisherman. The backlash is directly felt by our workers in Taiwan who, in every passing day, anxiously wait for their deliverance of a peaceful ending.

What is rather unsettling is the snail-paced progress of the investigation mechanism to be adapted in threshing out the truth. Whether we like it or not, we have reached the point of no return where public apology is not enough. Our hopes of getting American intervention seem dashed and overshadowed by the devil-may-care stance of the American diplomat who advocated for mutually agreed terms in resolving the crisis.

So far, we have faced a bleak future in the current crisis that tests the mettle of our conviction. I got it. We voice out diplomacy as our last weapon of choice to neutralize the "word war" that threatens to leave behind an indelible imprint in our foreign relations with Taiwan. We’ll just hope for the best that nothing worse  comes out of hand.
