The militant groups of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) sought an independent body to conduct an investigation into the killing of the tribal leader's pregnant wife and two children and to exclude the AFP from it to avoid the outcome from being influenced by the military higher-ups who are believed inclined to protect their subordinates and in order to avoid a "whitewash." This is a grim scenario which could spell a bleak future for the natives losing their ancestral lands to greedy capitalists who are banking huge deposits of gold and copper hidden in the entire mountains and hills which proponents are "bragging" could generate  billions in revenues for the Philippine government every year. The future of the native B'laans with their ancestral lands now in the hands of these capitalists is in limbo unless the government develops a "win-win solution" to protect the natives from total extinction. 

The government should stir the military away from "hatching a secret deal" with the capitalists to allow the natives a peaceful  co-existence with those engaged in the mining industry.
