This is a clear case of "palakasan." After having been convicted by the lower court for the crime of "double murder" in the deaths of the Quintos brothers of Mindoro, Villarosa who was the incumbent congressman at the time of the commission of crime and perceived as a strong political enemy of the Quintos political clan was exonerated of his criminal involvement in a ruling handed down by the higher courts. And what came into focus was the glaring connections between GMA, during her reigning power of influence, who acted as the principal sponsor in the wedding of the accused's daughter, with the two other Justices of the SC, Nachura and Brion, who likewise acted as sponsors in the said wedding. The wife of the former congressman who now holds the position as the incumbent congresswoman is reportedly "very close" to GMA that she was always with the former president in her travels. 

And the influence used by the "Ninong" to prevail on the case of the accused in the higher courts is very glaring in the deliberation of highly sensitive cases where even the minutest detail could be utilized as a contributing factor to exonerate the accused, a review of the case is just in order to ferret out the truth of the matter.
