Kaban ni D_BystandeR; MANAGLAHI ANG NAHITABO SA PAGKALUNOD SA CONCORDIA UG ST. THOMAS AQUINAS

This case was different from the sinking of a tourist cruise ship M/V Concordia which happened somewhere in Italy a few years back. But compared to that incident, the number of casualties was very much below over the number of  casualties of M/V St. Thomas Aquinas even if the former was carrying passengers by the thousands because it was a huge ship and also because it was not hit by another ship but only ran aground because that ship's captain tried to stir his ship closer beside an island on a sunny day as if bragging to be known as having the guts to go closer near it to have its clearer view. While the latter was having a little over 700 passengers but the fatality it incurred was greater in number because it sunk at nighttime within 15 minutes after being hit by another ship owned by Sulpicio Lines (it assumed a new name as its owner but the people behind it remains the same) as a result of the collision's impact. That cruise ship did not sink in 15 minutes' time but a lot longer thereby allowing its  crew members, mostly Filipinos, to guide their passengers to safety even if its ship captain was the first one to jump off ship.

The Filipino crews received various meaningful commendations from different quarters as a result of their heroic acts of saving as many passengers lives as possible. It was unfortunate that in our case the two ship captains seemed to be racing with each other trying to find out who could outrun the other ship fast without being hit by the losing ship. And the aggressor ship which rammed the M/V St. Thomas Aquinas did not even attempt to apply its full power brake to abort the tragic accident, an indication that it was criminally negligent of the lives of the passengers of the ship being slammed.

Nahimo siyang mamumuo sa usa ka pribadong kompaniya sa dakbayan sa Sugbo, ESCAÑO LINES, sulod sa napulo ug duha (12) ka tuig  dayon niyang tapon  ngadto sa NAPOCOR  ug nahimong kawani sa kagamhanan  sulod sa bayente dos (22) ka tuig.
