I have always maintained, based on
several succeeding cases that were questionably decided by Judge Alexander
Acosta always to favor Mayor Mike Rama, that he was unduly using his position
to defeat and antagonize the real meaning of justice and fairness where the
merits of the case ought to have been given primary and preferential concern rather
than the personalities involved in the case. Maybe, his conscience is finally
overwhelmed by the tremendous turn of events that he can no longer afford to
show how "thick-faced" he is that he finally resolved to inhibit
himself from handling the case about the Dona Pepang cemetery controversy. And
this is a good development which could somehow be considered as a factor that
this judge can still regain his honor and dignity for sometimes there are situations in
life where one has to learn a lesson by committing mistakes and at the same
time finally realizing in the end that
he has to mend his ways to be compatible with reality.
