Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ANGAYANG BUHION ANG MAKASAYSAYANONG BINUHATAN NI MANUEL SEGURA

The ideas presented by Bong W. in connection with the historical accounts during WWII by the late Col. Manuel F. Segura in his two books, "Tabonan" and "Koga," are worthy to be included in the important notes of some of our city leaders, most particularly Mayor Mike Rama, if only to give meaning to the bloody sacrifices of our war veterans who sacrificed a lot to regain freedom for our country. In order to do away with expensive tokens of memorabilia our  Mayor Mike can initiate something like making and installing inexpensive historical markers based on the books of Segura and probably with the guidance of Bong, who out of his previous inquisitive interest to know the places mentioned therein during the time when he was still busy roaming around the countrysides in his younger days, was actually able to pinpoint those historical sites.

For all you know, people living in a place with rich historical background showing unquestioned valor of their war heroes will also redound to the honor that the heroes deserve so that their sacrifices will not just go in vain. And in like manner, the visitors and tourists that will be motivated someday to visit the place will, in all likelihood, also appreciate the special interest that our city leaders have exerted to place with high regards the value of their contribution to the greatness of our city and country.
