Kaban ni D_BystandeR: MAKILILIMOS KAUBAN SA PAGSAULOG SA PASKO

I am at a loss as to what kind of conscience these people have that they do not give some considerations to the poor especially during Christmas where as Christians and fellow human beings, we traditionally celebrate this occasion as a time for caroling with the hope that whatever the poor can gather out of the few "coins" collected from generous people it will be enough to buy them some food as their gift for the season to satisfy their needs.

Maybe the DSWD's higher-ups or our top city officials are not reading the news about Pope Francis seriously making a campaign to ask national leaders around the world about the importance of showing mercy to the poor. This anti-mendicancy law is an obsolete edict enacted during martial law as declared by Dictator Marcos in 1972 to perpetuate himself in power and to amass wealth for personal reasons. This law is absolutely anti-poor! This law should be repealed or at least should be ignored by DSWD instead of making itself an active enforcer of an unpopular and an inhuman law!
