Kaban ni D_BystandeR: WALAY MAKAIPSOT SA MATINAGDANONG MATA NI SUPER BOB

When I read a news report earlier that DSWD personnel were very strict to the media not to allow them to interview the typhoon survivors claiming it could obstruct and delay their smooth operation to attend to the needs of the typhoon survivors in the city's evacuation centers, I already began  to develop my silent misgivings that these people (DSWD) were hiding something from the public of the kind of service they rendered to the evacuees.

And thanks to the frank and honest coverage of Super Bob now it can be told how lousy the service of DSWD is in providing service to the evacuees seeking vital assistance here in our place in Cebu City. Perhaps the idea that "beggars should not be selective" seemed to be the guiding principle of DSWD to our disaster-stricken brothers from Tacloban. The repetitious repacking they are doing only gives way to the "great loss of man-hours" where the prepacked donations from foreign countries, like for instance the one coming from Indonesia, could have been immediately dispatched to the hungry "end-users" had it not been for that bottle of ketchup found in a pack. Wa silang kahibawo nga ang ketchup importante kaayo na kay ug wa nay sud-an mahimo na nimong magamit nga "ipuli" silbing sud-an nimo. And the literal interpretation adapted by DSWD that those who were scheduled to "go back home" but were not able to catch-up with the desired flight or means of expected transportation and when they returned to the evacuation center DSWD will no longer honor them to receive their "goodies" because their names were already stricken out from their list. And they are very strict and adamant not to listen to reasons presented by the "returnees." Something should be done by the "higher-ups" of this DSWD to make its organization worthy to the task they are expected to do to faithfully accomplish its job especially in this time of crisis where their office plays a vital role to help the  evacuees. And the media also has an important role to do so  that the public will know how, and, if the evacuees are fairly treated, like what Super Bob is doing without fear that they will no longer allow the reporters to interview the typhoon victims.

What is important is to make their services transparent to the public to make the people assigned there to be honest to their job and to the people they are sworn to serve.
