Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ANUGON LANG ANG TANAN
It's a pity their son's life would meet a tragic end at the hands
of his girlfriend's father who holds a respectable job as a law enforcement
officer. This case would have only been made possible to exist in the hands of
a good story-writer whose forte deals with a "love story" between two
teenagers who vowed to love each other but found the girl's father hell-bent to
end their relationship "by all means," because they are world's apart
being that the girl belongs to a well-to-do
family and the boy just a son of a "nobody" but hardworking
parents.
These two souls and as young as they are, are not fated with each
other and only death could set them apart from each other.
Note: This is a latest comment to a related news item which
appeared in Sunstar-Cebu where the mother of the victim Lilybeth Montesclaros
confided to a reporter in an interview that her son Vincent Paul is the eldest
in a sibling of 8. He is a responsible son who takes care of his younger
siblings when his parents are away. His father, Paul, works in a communication
company in IT Park, Cebu City and his mother moonlights as a manicurist. He is
a scholar in his school and he dreamed of becoming a teacher one day, a modest
dream of a young teenager who could have dreamed of higher vocations or
profession based on his educational excellence as a young scholar. But he knew
his parents are poor and cannot afford to send him to higher levels of
profession except to become a teacher. In his room, he kept all the mementos of
his young love life like letters, gifts and pictures between him and his
girlfriend Natasha Faye and advised his mother not to touch them. The mother
said her son is responsible and loving. He would see to it that his younger
siblings have already taken their meal before seeing his girlfriend. To help
the family, her son would join local male pageants and dance competitions.
"Gwapo to siya, maayo sad mosayaw. (He was good-looking and a good
dancer)," Lilybeth said. Considering her husband's meager salary, Lilybeth
said they considered Vincent as their ticket out of poverty. "Makatabang
ta to siya namo sa pagpa-eskwela sa iyang mga manghud. (He could have helped
send his siblings to school)," she said.
